Hi and welcome..
I’m Saz and I write women’s fiction that will make you swoon, salivate, and maybe shed a few tears—but ultimately leave you feeling uplifted and inspired.
My stories are set in places I know well, around the Midlands and London featuring characters like me —someone who straddles my Britishness and inherited culture. People who’ve experienced life’s ups and downs, but find joy, love, and strength in family, friendship, and community.
My debut novels, My Heart Sings Your Song and its sequel Where Have We Come—a finalist in The Wishing Shelf Book Awards 2020—weave a deeply emotional tale of love, loss, family, and resilience. Based on true events, my writing explores the often-unspoken realities of baby loss within South Asian families in Britain, shining a light on stories that need to be told.
My short story Broad Street Library was longlisted for the Spread the Word Life Writing Prize 2020. You can read this in my Short Stories - Members Only area only for newsletter subscribers.
Before embracing my calling as a writer, I held a successful career in television production and as a secondary school teacher. But storytelling has always been my true passion. Now, I craft heartfelt narratives that reflect the layered complexities of multicultural identity, family expectations, and women’s experiences—especially those often shrouded in silence.
When you read my books, you’re in for more than just a story—you’ll discover a new culture, be tempted by mouthwatering menus, and even get a book playlist packed with both uplifting and heart-tugging songs. And if you’ve ever wanted to learn a few Gujarati words, don’t worry—I’ve got you covered with a handy glossary!”
If you love stories that celebrate love, resilience, and the beauty of connection, I’d love to chat with you today. Come say hello, and let’s talk books!”
My hobbies are cooking, listening to music, reading, and film (from Bollywood to Hollywood and everything in between). My books are rich with references from my upbringing and connect my readers to my immersive world. Each story is a blend of emotion and authenticity, written for readers who appreciate the depth and drama of South Asian family life and the power of voice in confronting taboo topics.

Here’s a short story of a mother and her sons sharing the experience of cooking, published in Desi Blitz.
